Go York lecture to explore social change

The next event in the Go York lecture series will be a presentation from Julia Unwin CBE about social change.

Julia Unwin is Chief Executive of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust and an Honorary Graduate of York St John University.

Her lecture – Is there a recipe for social change? The role of events, emotions and evidence in driving lasting social change – will take place in De Grey Lecture Theatre on Thursday 3 April 2014 at 6.30pm, with an arrival reception from 5.45pm. The lecture is free and open to all members of the local community.

Julia’s background includes roles with the Refugee Council, the Housing Corporation Board, the Food Standards Agency and as a Charity Commissioner. She is currently a member of the University of York’s council and was awarded a Fellowship of the City and Guilds of London Institute in 2011.

Go York is a series of lectures which bring together York St John University’s eminent academics, high profile speakers and the local community for a series of events to be enjoyed by all.
